Richard Childress Racing Museum to host Cruise ‘N on April 27

Richard Childress Racing Museum is once again hosting a Cruise ‘N at their RCR campus on Saturday, April 27 for classic car owners and enthusiasts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Highlighting this event will be a chance for someone to win a Goodwrench 350 Crate Engine via a raffle hosted by Classic Muscle GM Restoration Parts. In addition to other great prizes, food and drink being available throughout the event; there will also be live music.

Proceeds from this show will be donated to the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma.

Chocolate Myers, longtime gas man on the No. 3 Goodwrench Chevrolet team and current curator of the RCR Museum, is hosting the event and will give out his “Choc Award” to the entrant of his choice.

“This is a great event for anyone who owns a classic car, or just enjoys being around them,” Myers said. “We’ve done this a few times before and the events continue to grow. We see some familiar faces, which is always great. But, we are starting to see many new car owners and classic car people coming out each time.

“We’re doing it the day of the Richmond race so folks can get wherever they’re going to watch the Cup race that night. The awards and prizes are some of the best we’ve ever had to offer, too.”

Last year, more than 250 cars were on display during the event.

In addition to Classic Muscle, the event is also sponsored by GoodGuys Rod and Custom Association and Modern Chevrolet Performance of nearby Winston-Salem. Terry Streetman of GoodGuys will also present an award from his organization.

Myers will also award the Grand Prize of a nylon uniform-style team jacket of choice from the No. 27, No. 29 or No. 31 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams of RCR. There will also be discounts on team merchandise and RCR Museum admissions during the day.
